The Wrongful Conviction of Alfred Trenkler
Forensic Evidence Withheld
Here are the noted forensic evidence that was withheld by the government in Alfred's case:
- The fingerprint seen on the electrical tape used to wrap the dynamite sealed inside the bomb, --- Without a doubt, this piece of evidence would have proven the identity of the nbomb builder and exonerated Alfred, especially with the advent of the ability to obtain DNA from fingerprints.
- The duct tape -- could have fingerprints and DNA proving the identity of the bomb builder.and exonerate Alfred
- Whilte filament tape could have fingerprints and DNA that would identify the bomb builder and exonerate Alfred.
- The hair fiber discovered on the tape sealed within the bomb -- could have DNA value that would identify the bomb builder and exonerate Alfred.
- The unidentified fingerprints from the Shay Sr car that did not match Alfred or his alleged -- this would show the identity of some one with interest of the undercarriage of Shay Sr's and exonerate Alfred. This could show that the bomb was never attached to Shay Sr's car as he claimed it was.
- The photographs of the toggle switch remains -- this could have proven the origin of the toggle switch and shown that the switch was from a source not purchased from by Shay Sr.
- Fingerprint results from the recovered bomb batteries -- this would identify the bomb builder and exonerate Alfred.
- The second police report of the mock bomb reenactment on Shay Sr's car proving the bomb could not dislodge from the car as Shay Sr and the government sold to the jury -- this would prove that Shay Sr was lying about the bomb's discovery;, that Shay Sr actually put the bomb in his back yard and not under the car as he claimed it was, and that the governement's theory was wrong and that no one put the bomb under Shay Sr's car as he claimed because someone was trrying to target Shay or his car.
- The second video tape recording the bomb's not being able to be dislodged from undrneath Shay Sr's car -- this would be visible proof that Shay's story that the bomb was underneath his car which would have been proven a lie. Instead it would have shown that Shay Sr had to have placed the bomb in his back yard and that no one put the bomb underneath Shay Sr's car as he claimed; Alfred would have been shown that he wasn't targeting Shay Sr or his car and would have been exonerated.
